The Arts Run Santa Clarita is currently under review to determine when it can be hosted again. The unfortunate impact of the pandemic brought many challenges to the sustainability of the event and it can not be hosted in April 2022.

The Arts For Santa Clarita board is reviewing options and possible plans for the future of the Arts Run Santa Clarita to continue. Once a solution and future date are determined then an update will be made available so everyone can prepare and plan on participating in the event.

What happens with your race entry? All registered entries will be carried into the new date once announced. If you are not able to make the new date, you have the following options:

If you wish to choose one of these options, please submit a request through our contact page.

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this may cause.

Thank you for your support and understanding through these challenging times.

Arts For Santa Clarita Team

Hello Arts Run Participants, Volunteers, Artists, Sponsors, and Friends,

The last several weeks have been showing great promise with pandemic numbers dropping and vaccines rolling out. Clearly, we could see progress was being made thanks to everyone’s effort to stop this pandemic, and we when heard that the State of California was going to issue an announcement for the re-opening of sports, we got super excited.

Then, we read the new update guidance on recreation sports, which you can see here. There’s a lot of good news in there for some sports activities, but the bad news is that it specifically prohibits any races like ours, stating:

“this guidance does not apply to community events, such as marathons, half-marathons, and endurance races.”

Our hearts fell to the floor. We have been in regular communications with the City of Santa Clarita and following Los Angeles County conditions closely, anxiously waiting for the green light to host the Arts Run.

Now we have received official confirmation from the City of Santa Clarita that we will not be permitted to host on April 10th. This was painful to hear as we have been working to prepare on hosting the race, yet we know this is for the betterment of all of us getting ahead of this pandemic and putting it behind us safely and properly, so it does not come back, ever.

At this time, the Arts Run team is reviewing for a suitable date to host the race possibly in 2021 or 2022. We will post an update once the date has been confirmed.

We know this disappointing, but on the bright side, we can see the light at the end of this tunnel. As we progress ahead there will be new guidelines to open endurance events, the vaccine rollout is rapidly increasing, and all of this will get us back to running races in California safely.

We want to extend a huge thank you for your patience and understanding, your support is helping us get through these challenging times. We are anxious to get back to hosting our races and cannot wait to see all the smiling faces of our incredible running community. We promise you when it’s safe that we will bring you our signature race experience.

What happens with your race entry? All registered entries will be carried into the new date once announced. If you are not able to make the new date, you have the following options:

If you wish to choose one of these options, please submit a request through our contact page.

We sincerely miss seeing all of you, our race family brings us so much joy and love. Until then… stay healthy, keep running, and we will see you soon!

Terry, Jenny, Ryan, and the New Global Adventures and Arts For Santa Clarita Teams.

PS: There is currently a petition for California to re-open endurance events, please help support this cause and sign the petition here.

Hello Arts Run Participants, Volunteers, Artists, Sponsors, and Friends,

This is the announcement we were hoping that would never have to publish. Yet here we are going through a global COVID-19 pandemic together, like a bad dream that doesn’t stop, this is unknown territory that is playing with our health and the health of our loved ones.

In light of the global pandemic situation, and the mandates from Governor Newsom, the CDC, and the City of Santa Clarita to stop all public events through April or later and for everyone to stay home, and after careful review and consideration with the Arts For Santa Clarita board, we have decided to cancel the 2020 Arts Run and roll it over to 2021 with the new date planned for April 10, 2021.

This was not an easy decision to make as we have been working hard to bring together the 2020 race. Yet, we can’t be foolish or stubborn when it comes to people’s lives, with hundreds of people that are a part of our events, the welfare of participants including runners, volunteers, artists, sponsors, vendors, family, city officials, and crew is always a priority at our events.

What happens to registered participants? Everyone’s entry will be rolled into the new race date in 2021. If you are not able to make the new date, you do have the option to change your entry to a virtual runner and earn the Arts Run medal and swag. To request a change or for questions please contact us at run@scvartsrun.org.

This pandemic situation is incredibly challenging for us as this is our livelihood and how we take care of our family, we work tirelessly to bring the community the best race events we can. Additionally, the Arts Run directly impacts the Arts For Santa Clarita organization, staff, and community. These events would not be possible without you and everyone involved, we want everyone to be smart in this global health crisis, let’s do our part to stop this virus in its tracks, then we can all get back together and enjoy awesome running experiences.

—

New Global Adventures would not have made it over the last 5-years without the tremendous amount of people in the community that has been supporting us and our events by being a participant or volunteering year after year. Your success at our races has been our success and we cannot overstate our appreciation for all the love and understanding we have received. We love our races as much as you love to be a part of them, we are in this for the long haul and plan to create awesome race experiences in the community for many years to come. We hope that everyone will follow the recommended safety guidelines, stay safe, stay home, and be healthy so you can come run with us soon.

Thank you for your support and understanding,

Terry, Jenny, Ryan and the New Global Adventures and Arts For Santa Clarita Teams.

APRIL 20, 2022 ARTS RUN IN REVIEW The Arts Run Santa Clarita is currently under review to determine when it can be hosted again. The unfortunate impact of the pandemic brought many challenges to the sustainability of the event and it can not be hosted in April 2022.
